The Word Owl’s Word Search bundle is available on the Apple App Store. Four great apps for the price of two!

Word Owl Word Search apps are neat educational and colorful word search games for kids of various ages. The Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade editions feature popular sight words that account for a large percentage of the words used in literature for children at each grade level. The Kindergarten edition has slightly over 150 sight words, and the First Grade and Second Grade editions have 200 sight words each. Also included in the bundle is the Christmas edition of Word Owl’s Word Search. The Christmas edition features over 100 Christmas holiday related words, big and small. This edition also has an additional “Show Words” option and hint button that can both be used to affect the difficulty.

All of these apps also have different letter and background colors that can be changed in the options menu as well as settings for the sound. For all of the apps you simply slide your finger across the letters to form a word that’s displayed on the left side of the screen. The words are in the word search vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. All of the words are displayed in a forward facing manner, except the Second Grade and Christmas editions, they both also have words that are displayed backwards for increased difficulty.

(App bundles are a new feature on the Apple App Store, and I will be embracing them as much of possible for related apps. I’m going to try having a minimum of four apps for all of my bundles, but there may be a couple with only three apps. Regardless of size, all of them will be listed at a discounted price. Enjoy!)

Word Owl’s Word Search is a neat, big, and colorful word search for children. This Kindergarten Edition of Word Owl’s Word Search features over 100 sight words for children in or around Kindergarten. These words have been gathered from numerous sight word lists provided by real Kindergarten classes in different schools. Help your kindergartener or soon to be kindergartener learn and retain several words while having fun!

√ Over 100 different sight words
√ 10 words to find per puzzle
√ Customizable letter and background colors
√ Sharp & colorful high quality graphics

(Sight words are commonly used words that children are encouraged to memorize as a whole by sight, so that they can automatically recognize these words when they see them without having to use any distracting strategies. Sight words account for a large percentage of the words used in literature for children. One advantage for children being able to recognize sight words automatically is that the child will be able to identify the majority of words in a book before they even attempt to read it. When the child is able to do that they’ll be able to concentrate on the meaning and comprehension as they read without having to stop to figure out the actual word.)
